OIL CITY – First Night Oil City gets underway at 5:30 p.m. today with a hat-making activity National Transit Building.
The family-oriented non-alcoholic celebration includes a variety of entertainment, outdoor bonfires, a Cool Night Light People Procession and more.
First Night will feature two fireworks displays a “Gusher Fireworks” display at 7 p.m. and a “Midnight Burst” will occur at midnight.
Performers include the Butler Clowns, Tasana Camara, The Storytellers Band, America’s Best Frisbee Dog, Dennis James, Cliff Hopkins, Maureen Galiber, Geoff Bach, Bill Sandusky of Erie Ice Works, Community Playhouse, Matt Gavula, The Southern Knights unplugged, Robert Morelli, American Pie Oldies Band, and Charles Stayduhar.
The Frisbee Dogs show times are 7:30, 8:30 and 9:30 p.m. There will be no 10:30 p.m. performance.
The shuttle bus will be running from 5:30 p.m. until 12:30 a.m. with stops on the North Side and South Side.
Admission to First Night Oil City events requires the purchase of a button at a cost of $10. Children 5 years old and younger are admitted free.
