Antlerless deer license sales begin July 9

From staff reports

The Venango County Treasurer’s Office announced that antlerless deer license sales will begin Monday, July 9 for Pennsylvania residents.

Hunters who wish to apply for an antlerless deer license must hold a hunting license for the 2018-2019 season.

The cost for the antlerless license is $6.90 for residents and $26.90 for non-residents. One license per hunter may be issued in the first round, and hunters may apply for a second and third license in following rounds until the supply runs out. Applicants can send a check or money order made payable to the county treasurer. Cash is not accepted.

Hunters are encouraged to mail their application on Friday, July 6 in the pink envelope provided by the Game Commission to ensure a timely delivery. Applications received prior to July 9 will be rejected. Applications can be mailed to the county treasurer of the hunter’s choice. Applications are not accepted by the Game Commission. A first-class stamp is required on inner and outer envelopes.

If applying with others as a group, the Venango County treasurer suggests submitting separate checks with each application. If two or three applicants apply together with one check, all of the applications may be rejected if there is a problem with any one of them.

Applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis through the U.S. Postal system only. Hunters can check the Game Commission website frequently to confirm that his or her application has been processed.
