Access to OC police station restricted

From staff reports

Oil City police are restricting access to the police station after someone claiming to have COVID-19 paid them a visit Monday.

Chief Dave Ragon said the person who claimed to have the virus was coughing.

Access to the station was restricted Monday evening, Ragon said. If someone comes to the station, police will speak to them through the intercom on the door or come outside to talk to them, Ragon said.

The point is to keep sick people from walking in and to keep employees and the public safe, Ragon said.

“We are still responding like we did before. If we need to we’ll put on our masks and gloves, like the fire departments are,” Ragon said.

Ragon said the department is still trying to find out if the person was tested and really has the virus.
