6 injured in 2-vehicle crash

Emergency personnel responded to this two-vehicle crash at about 3:30 p.m. Thursday at the intersection of Education Drive and Route 257 in Seneca. Franklin state police said the accident occurred when Eleanor Neely, 61, of Oil City driving a 2003 Ford rear-ended a 2008 Chevrolet Impala driven by Olivia Whitmer, 18, of Oil City while she was stopped at a stop light. According to police, Neely and her four passengers, Crystal Markley, 20, Tammy Paden, 44, Daniel Paden, 54 and a one-year-old female, all of Oil City, were transported by Community Ambulance to UPMC Northwest. Whitmer was not transported by EMS but said she would get herself checked for injuries at a later time, police said. Seneca Volunteer Fire Department assisted at the scene. Trooper Matthew Cirell of the Franklin state police said that as the investigation for this wreck was finishing, another incident occurred in the same manner between a 2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer and a 2006 Chevrolet Colorado. There were no injuries and both vehicles were able to be driven from the scene, Cirell said. (By Nancy McFetridge)
