5 Seneca troop Boy Scouts complete Eagle projects

Austin Stivanson, Trevin Chittester, Andrew Holden, Dylan Schubert and Ian Best completed their Eagle Scout projects and were recognized Sunday by Troop 111 of Seneca.

Stivanson is the son of Mike and Wendy Stivanson and is a junior at Clarion High School.

He plans to attend a four-year college and major in electrical engineering.

Stivanson has been in scouting since joining in kindergarten as a Lion Cub, and he earned his Arrow of Light in Cub Scouting.

He has held the positions of assistant senior patrol leader, patrol leader and troop guide. He is also a brotherhood member of the Order of the Arrow.

Stivanson’s Eagle project was completed for Shippenville Borough when he designed and constructed a volleyball court in a local park.

Chittester is the son of Jim and Jodie Chittester and a junior at Cranberry High School.

He plans to attend a four-year college, possibly as an ROTC, and pursue a degree in natural resources and/or history.

Chittester has been in scouting since joining as a Lion Scout in kindergarten, and he earned the Arrow of Light in Cub Scouting.

He has held the positions of assistant senior patrol leader, OA representative and bugler.

Chittester is a brotherhood member of the Order of the Arrow and has been on staff at Custaloga Town Scout Reservation for five years.

Chittester’s Eagle project was completed for Cranberry Township. He constructed a 31-step stairway at the canoe and kayak launch near the 8th Street Bridge on the Justus recreation trail.

Holden is the son of Doug and Kelley Holden and is a senior at Cranberry High School.

He plans to attend the main campus of Penn State University and pursue a degree in engineering and/or business.

Holden has been in scouting since joining in first grade as a Tiger Cub, and he earned his Arrow of Light in Cub Scouting.

He has held the positions of webmaster, senior patrol leader and assistant senior patrol leader.

Holden is an ordeal member of the Order of the Arrow.

Holden’s Eagle project was completed for the Western Pennsylvania Conservancy. He did an improvement project on the parking area, signage and banking at the Utica canoe and kayak launch.

Schubert is the son of Kim and Mike Schubert and a senior at Cranberry High School where he participates in chorus, select choir, chamber choir, reading competition team, academic challenge and yearbook.

He was selected for district chorus and did set design and construction for the high school musical.

Schubert is planning to attend a technical school for recording engineering and graphic design.

He was a Cub Scout for several years and then rejoined scouting in seventh grade as a troop member.

He has held the positions of quartermaster and senior patrol leader.

Schubert is an ordeal member of the Order of the Arrow.

Schubert’s Eagle project was completed for the Brandon Cemetery Association.

He designed and constructed a gazebo on the cemetery property in Seneca. The gazebo serves as a gathering spot for remembrances and services at the cemetery.

Best is the son of Todd and Brenda Best and a senior at Cranberry High School where he participates in chorus, chamber chorus, barbershop quartet, bowling, track and the reading competition team.

He was selected for district and regional chorus and performed in the high school musical.

Best plans to attend Westminster College and pursue a major in business with minors in music and theater.

Best has been in scouting since becoming a Wolf Scout in second grade. He earned the Arrow of Light in Cub Scouting.

He has held the positions of troop guide, assistant senior patrol leader and senior patrol leader.

Best is an ordeal member of the Order of the Arrow.

Best’s Eagle project was completed for the Cranberry Area Little League Association. He constructed and installed six benches around the main ball field at Cranberry.
