5 area students earn Clarion scholar-athlete awards

Five area residents were among the 174 Clarion University students who earned scholar-athlete status.

They are: Taylor Moltz, of Oil City, a senior criminal justice major and member of the women’s basketball team; Alexandra Schwab, of Oil City, a sophomore nursing major and member of the women’s cross country/track and field team; Abbigail Yeager, of Oil City, a freshman biology major and member of the volleyball team; Dajere Harris, of Franklin, a senior communications major and member of the women’s cross country/track and field team; and Josh Kirwin, of Franklin, a sophomore criminal justice major and member of the baseball team.

To earn recognition, a student-athlete must have achieved one of the following: a cumulative grade-point average of 3.2 or higher; a 3.2 GPA or higher in two consecutive semesters, in the previous year’s spring semester and this year’s fall semester; or, as a freshman or first-year transfer student, achieve a 3.2 GPA in the fall semester.
