2 OC women charged for hindering police

From staff reports

Two Oil City women are facing charges for telling police that a man wasn’t at a Cornwall Street residence before police later located him there.

Oil City police said they went to 3 Cornwall St. on March 7 to serve multiple active warrants on Ronald D. Resseger, 24, of Oil City, and Michelle Holton, 47, told police she didn’t know Resseger.

Holton’s husband told police that Resseger was inside, according to a criminal complaint. When asked why she had lied, Holton said she had forgotten about Resseger, the complaint said.

Once inside, police spoke with Paige Domres, 21, who said Resseger had left, according to a second complaint.

Police located Resseger in an upstairs room, the complaint said.

Holton and Domres have both been charged with one misdemeanor count of hindering apprehension or prosecution.

Their preliminary hearings are scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 10, in Venango County Central Court.
