2 juveniles arrested on firearms charges

Oil City police have filed charges against two juveniles in connection with a June 9 incident in which a 16-year-old boy is accused of cutting a house arrest bracelet and leaving a Washington Avenue home with a firearm.

Police said they were asked by Venango County Juvenile Probation to assist in locating the 16-year-old who received the firearm from a 15-year-old boy. The 15-year-old is accused of taking the weapon from another residence on June 3.

The 16-year-old was arrested on charges of theft, possession of a firearm by a minor, receiving stolen property, firearms not to be carried without a license, recklessly endangering another person, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The 15-year-old was arrested on charges of burglary-overnight accommodations, theft, firearms not to be carried without a license and possession of a firearm by a minor.
