2 face drug, other charges after being found at hotel

From staff reports

Two Oil City residents have been charged after they were found in possession of drugs in a room at the Days Inn in Oil City that they were using without the consent of the hotel.

Oil City police responded to a report Sunday and found Kevin Zenker, 46, and Julie Anderson, 40, trying to depart a room in the Days Inn that they were using, according to a criminal complaint filed by police.

The complaint said both Anderson and Zenker were known to officers “from prior law enforcement related matters.”

Zenker told police they were traveling through the area, found the room unlocked and entered and used the services of the Days Inn without the consent of the owners or management, according to the complaint.

Officers took Anderson and Zenker into custody, then returned to the room to retrieve their belongings and found several bags of methamphetamine and multiple pieces of drug paraphernalia, the complaint said.

Anderson and Zenker were both charged with felony counts of engaging in criminal conspiracy-criminal trespass-enter structure and engaging in criminal conspiracy-manufacture, delivery, or possession with intent to manufacture or deliver. They were also charged with misdemeanor counts of theft of services-acquisition of services, use/possession of drug paraphernalia, and delivery-intent to deliver drug paraphernalia.

Zenker was also charged with two misdemeanor counts of use/possession of drug paraphernalia and one misdemeanor count of possession of a controlled substance.

They were arraigned before district judge Matthew Kirtland and confined to the Venango County jail after failing to post bail.

Preliminary hearings for the two are scheduled Oct. 9 in Central Court.
